# Uditi Singh Calls Breakup With Karan Wahi a ‘Blessing in Disguise’, Says He Was ‘Extremely Dominating’

Speaking to fellow contestant Scoutt, Uditi reflected on how their relationship became difficult during the COVID-19 lockdown. She said the separation ultimately marked a major turning point in both her personal life and career.

“After the breakup, it was really a blessing in disguise for me. Because my entire career, my entire life, everything changed,” Uditi said.

She also recalled how the couple adopted a Golden Retriever named Noah during the lockdown. According to Uditi, the responsibilities of caring for the dog, along with the pressures of spending so much time together during the pandemic, became a source of frequent disagreements.

“And we took a pet together in the lockdown. So when we took Noah, the Golden Retriever, a lot of fights started over him,” she recalled.

Uditi said the two had different approaches to household responsibilities, particularly cleaning and looking after Noah. She also described Wahi as dominant in the relationship and said she often felt that he underestimated her ability to handle things independently.

“Then he was also a little dominant in it and would say, ‘You don't know.’ Because he was so dependent on age, for him everything was like, ‘You won't be able to do it. You don't know this and that,’” she said.

She added that similar comments were made about her ability to care for their pet, which left her feeling unsupported.

“‘You won't be able to handle Noah.’ So I was like, but my partner is very demotivating,” Uditi said.

Looking back, she suggested that the relationship's difficulties were also influenced by the circumstances surrounding them at the time.

“That's what happens. If you don't get the stars aligned, then there is a fight over everything. And when you get them aligned, everything is good. So it was like that,” she explained.

Uditi and Karan Wahi were publicly linked around 2019-20, with the actor having shared pictures with her during their relationship. The relationship was believed to have been serious, and Uditi had previously told her Bigg Boss housemates that they had been together for around two-and-a-half years and had discussed marriage.

She had also spoken about her parents having reservations about the relationship, including concerns surrounding their age difference and Wahi's profession as an actor.

Uditi began her career as a model before moving into music videos and acting. Her music-video credits include Suroor, Bewafai Nu Salaam, Yaadein Teriyan Meriyan, Yeh Dil Deewana, Aaoge Tum and Karizma.

She made her film debut in Sujoy Ghosh's Netflix thriller Jaane Jaan, in which she played the younger version of Kareena Kapoor Khan's character, Maya. She later appeared in the 2025 comedy Jassi Weds Jassi.
