‘Kalki 2898 AD 2’ Makers Celebrate Prabhas’ Birthday with Special Behind-the-Scenes Video

The video features Prabhas back in character as Bhairava, with director Nag Ashwin guiding him through a scene. The clip provides a brief look at the making of the next instalment in the science-fiction franchise, while keeping the film’s larger narrative under wraps.

Sharing the video on social media, the makers wished the actor, describing him as the “Superhero of Indian cinema” and the “Darling of every generation”. The production house Vyjayanthi Movies also welcomed him back to the Kalki 2898 AD universe as it celebrated his birthday.

Prabhas’ portrayal of Bhairava in the first film won over audiences with a combination of humour, swagger and action. His character became one of the film’s popular elements, adding a lighter dimension to a story that draws on Indian mythology and futuristic science fiction.

Released in 2024, Kalki 2898 AD featured Prabhas alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani. Set in a dystopian future inspired by Indian mythological traditions, the film revolves around a world awaiting the arrival of Kalki.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the blockbuster received further recognition this year by winning two National Film Awards.

While details about the sequel’s storyline and release schedule remain undisclosed, the birthday video has offered fans an early glimpse of Prabhas reprising his role and renewed anticipation for the next chapter of the franchise.
