Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s Delhi concert, scheduled for October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, has received police permission following a security review, organiser BookMyShow Live confirmed on Friday.

In a statement, BookMyShow Live clarified that permission for the concert had initially been withheld temporarily and that the decision should not be interpreted as a cancellation.

The organiser said Delhi Police had sought additional safety, traffic management and crowd-control measures in view of the festive season and the need for heightened security precautions.

According to BookMyShow Live, representatives held a meeting with Delhi Police and presented a detailed plan addressing the authorities’ concerns. The organiser also assured the police of full compliance with the required security and traffic arrangements.

Following the review, permission for the event was reconsidered and granted.

“We, with Delhi Police, are committed to ensuring a good experience for attendees as well as local commuters,” the organiser said in its statement.

Earlier reports had indicated that Delhi Police had denied permission for Dosanjh’s concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium over security concerns.

In a letter dated October 21, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District, had informed BookMyShow Live Private Limited that its request to hold the musical event could not be approved at that stage.

The letter cited specific threat-related inputs, alongside the security and law-and-order responsibilities arising from the ongoing festive season and other commitments, as reasons for withholding permission.

However, the communication did not disclose the nature of the reported threats or provide further details.

The Delhi concert is scheduled to mark the beginning of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour, a six-week musical tour featuring performances across several cities. The tour is expected to include stops in Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Lucknow, among other locations.

The issuance of permission following the security review clears the way for the Delhi performance, subject to the required safety and traffic-management arrangements.
