Actress Urvashi Rautela has expressed concern over the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai, calling it “deeply disturbing” and urging authorities to act swiftly against those responsible.
Speaking about the incident, the *Sanam Re* actress said she was keeping Tiger and his family in her prayers and hoped the investigation would lead to prompt action.
“It’s very deeply disturbing. My heartfelt strength and prayers to Tiger and his family. And I really hope that the authorities take swift action. Like really fast,” Urvashi said.
Asked about a series of firing incidents in Mumbai, including those reported outside the residences of actors Rohit Shetty and Salman Khan, as well as the shooting of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, the actress reiterated her concern.
“I can’t think of much. But it’s very deeply disturbing. That’s what I said. I really hope that authorities take swift action. That’s what I’m hoping and expecting,” she added.
The incident involving Tiger Shroff took place on October 18 outside a football club near Pushpa Narsee Park in Mumbai’s Juhu area. The actor escaped without gunshot injuries, while his driver and an autorickshaw driver were reportedly injured. According to reports, three suspects allegedly linked to the incident were arrested in Kota, Rajasthan.
Several members of the film industry have condemned the incident and raised concerns about public safety.
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also denounced the attack, expressing relief that Tiger was safe and extending support to the actor’s father, Jackie Shroff, and the rest of the family.
“I, on behalf of the film industry, on behalf of the National Institute of Industry and Employees, on behalf of the Directors’ Association and in part the producers’ group, condemn this attack on one of the major celebrities of our industry. And I thank God that nothing fatal happened and he is safe. One really feels quite shocked and quite pained. And we all stand by Jackie Shroff and the entire family in this hour of crisis,” Pandit said.
He also spoke about the distress the incident could have caused the family, noting that the attack had heightened concerns about security within the film industry.
“One can understand the trauma which Jackie and the entire family must be undergoing now. They must have never expected that this will happen to their son. The entire atmosphere of insecurity, unsafe, has crept into the industry,” he said.
Referring to the earlier firing incident reported outside Rohit Shetty’s residence, Pandit said the latest episode had renewed concerns about the safety of prominent figures in the entertainment industry.
