Actress Tanushree Dutta has reacted to the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar in a video shared on social media, saying she was still trying to process how she should respond while focusing on a work commitment.

Dutta said she had heard about Patekar's death but wanted to concentrate on an event she was scheduled to attend in Lucknow. She also expressed her condolences to his family.

"I have heard the news. Today is my work day. I am going to Lucknow for an event, and I want to focus on that," Dutta said.

She described the timing as unusual given her planned work commitments and said she had intended to spend the day conducting live sessions and posting content related to the event.

She added that she was unsure how she should react to Patekar's death and referred to it as "Evil Dead" while discussing her concern that media coverage of her comments could overshadow her professional commitments.

"So, I will give my reaction once I figure out what kind of reaction I should have. So, definitely, condolences to the family. Thank you very much," she said.

Dutta and Patekar were at the centre of a controversy during India's #MeToo movement in 2018. Dutta had accused the actor of allegedly behaving inappropriately with her during the filming of *Horn 'Ok' Pleassss* and later filed a police complaint. Patekar denied the allegations and described them as false.

Patekar died on October 8 following a cardiac arrest, according to the source report. He was taken to a hospital in Dona Paula, Goa, where doctors reportedly said he was brought in at around 4:20 a.m.

Doctors reportedly attempted to revive him with CPR for approximately 45 minutes to an hour before declaring him dead at around 5:20 a.m.
