Subhash Ghai Praises Aamir Khan, Asks What Makes the Superstar Special

Sharing a photograph with Aamir on social media, Ghai posed the question, “What’s so special about Aamir Khan?” before listing some of the superstar’s notable achievements.

He pointed to *Lagaan*, crediting the 2001 film with taking Indian commercial cinema to the Oscars and placing it on an international platform. Ghai also highlighted *Dangal*, in which Aamir portrayed a father, noting its success both in India and overseas, particularly in China.

Ghai further mentioned *Taare Zameen Par*, which Aamir produced and starred in, praising the film for bringing wider attention to dyslexia and its impact on children. He also included *Sitaare Zameen Par*, describing it as another film that focuses on people with disabilities and carries an important message.

Concluding his post, Ghai described Aamir as a versatile actor and praised his work as a producer, philanthropist and his contribution to the Hindi film industry.

The two filmmakers have not worked together on a feature film, although Ghai had previously spoken about considering Aamir for a role in his 1991 film *Saudagar*. The collaboration, however, did not eventually take place.

Aamir, who turned 61 in March 2026, has also been in the spotlight for his personal life this year. He married his longtime partner Gauri Spratt in a registered ceremony at his Mumbai residence on July 5, 2026.
