Madhuri Dixit Recalls Being Shocked After Spotting Director Crying During a Shot

The actress recounted the incident on the sets of *Kon Honar Crorepati*, where actor Sonali Bendre appeared as a guest. During their conversation, Bendre asked Madhuri whether she had ever regretted working on a film.

Responding to the question, Madhuri recalled working with a director who was extremely intense and emotionally expressive on set. She explained that he wanted every scene to begin at a high emotional pitch, whereas she preferred gradually building up the intensity.

According to Madhuri, the director would disagree with her suggestions and become so emotionally involved while explaining scenes that he would sometimes disappear from view and sit under a table crying.

Recounting another incident from the same shoot, Madhuri said she was filming a trolley shot and delivering the dialogue, “Why did you do that?” when she suddenly began hearing sobbing sounds.

Initially confused by the noise, the actress looked around to see what was happening. She was stunned to discover that the director was sitting on the trolley and crying while she performed the scene.

Her revelation left Bendre amused, with the actress responding in disbelief, “Are you serious?”

Madhuri Dixit is among Hindi cinema’s most celebrated actresses, known for her performances in films such as *Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!*, *Dil To Pagal Hai* and *Devdas*.
