A group claiming links to Lawrence Bishnoi has taken responsibility for the firing incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area and demanded an apology from Bollywood star Salman Khan to Lawrence Bishnoi.
In a post attributed to the group, a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit, along with Harman Sandhu, claimed responsibility for the attack on Shroff on Sunday evening. The message alleged that the actor had previously been warned but had failed to heed the warning, prompting the group to resort to violence.
The post also threatened people in the Mumbai film industry who work with Salman Khan, warning that they could become future targets. It further threatened individuals from other groups who, according to the message, were allegedly using the Bishnoi name to gain publicity.
Separately, the Mumbai Crime Branch shared an audio recording in which a man identified as Anil Pandit allegedly demanded that Salman Khan apologise to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community. The recording contained threats against Khan and his family if the demand was not met.
The authenticity of the claims and the identities of those behind the messages remain matters for investigators to establish. The claims of responsibility should not be treated as independent confirmation of who carried out the shooting.
According to reports, three motorcycle-borne men opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s car in the Juhu area on Sunday evening. The actor escaped unharmed, while his driver was reportedly injured in the incident.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed the Mumbai Police Commissioner to investigate the case immediately and take strict action against those responsible.
The incident has also drawn attention to the previous attack on Salman Khan’s residence. On April 14, 2024, two men on a motorcycle fired shots outside the actor’s Galaxy Apartments home in Bandra, Mumbai.
Investigators are examining the latest shooting and the threats circulating in connection with it.
