Amitabh Bachchan Gets Emotional Hearing Late Mother Teji Bachchan’s Voice Ahead of 84th Birthday

The moving moment unfolded during a special birthday-week celebration on the quiz reality show, as the actor prepares to turn 84 on October 11.

The studio resonated with Teji Bachchan’s voice as she recited *Raat Aadhi Ho Gayi Hai*, bringing back cherished memories of the actor’s parents. Monochrome photographs of a young Amitabh with his mother appeared on screen alongside the recording.

Recognising her voice immediately, an emotional Bachchan paused and told the audience, “Maa ki aawaaz hai yeh... Haan, woh Babuji ki ek kavita gaa rahi hain,” meaning, “This is my mother’s voice... Yes, she is reciting a poem by Babuji.”

The special episode also featured a young child and dancer paying tribute to the veteran actor, describing him as much more than a superstar, host or father.

“Amitabh Bachchan ji sirf ek superstar, host ya pita nahi... balki ek emotion hain, Hindustan ka emotion,” the child said, meaning that Bachchan is not just a superstar, host or father, but an emotion for the country.

Amitabh has spoken on several occasions about his late mother and the profound influence she had on his life. Teji Bachchan passed away in 2007.

Despite his age, the veteran actor continues to remain professionally active, balancing his hosting duties on *Kaun Banega Crorepati* with several projects in the pipeline.
