Three Killed, Several Injured as Truck Collides with Delhi-Bihar Passenger Bus in UP's Kushinagar

The accident took place near Labaniya intersection, under the jurisdiction of Patherwa police station, when the truck collided with the bus.

The deceased include two men and a young girl. While two victims died at the scene, the girl succumbed to her injuries during treatment at Kushinagar Medical College, officials said.

Police said two of the deceased were reportedly from Motihari in Bihar. The identity of the third victim is yet to be confirmed.

Critical Injured Passengers Referred to Gorakhpur

More than half a dozen passengers sustained injuries in the collision. Two passengers, whose condition was described as critical, were referred to BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur for further treatment.

A seven-year-old girl, identified as Akriti Kushwaha, is receiving treatment at Kushinagar Medical College.

Pushkar Pathak, in-charge of the hospital's Emergency and Trauma Department, said four injured individuals were brought to the facility. One unidentified person was declared dead on arrival and shifted to the post-mortem facility.

He added that two other patients in critical condition had been referred to BRD Medical College, while Akriti was being treated at the hospital.

Pathak further said that two additional individuals were also declared dead on arrival and subsequently moved to the mortuary.

Police Launch Investigation

After receiving information about the collision, police teams reached the spot and began rescue and relief operations. The injured were taken for medical treatment, while the bodies were sent for further procedures.
