Sree Charani Sets New Record Rating in ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings

Charani, who already occupies the No. 1 position in the T20I bowling rankings, reached the career-best mark following a string of impressive performances in Japan. Her latest rating surpasses the previous record of 806 points, achieved by Australia’s Megan Schutt in November 2018.

The spinner played a key role in India's successful campaign in the Asia Cup and at the Asian Games. During the Asia Cup, Charani claimed 12 wickets, including figures of 4/20 against Sri Lanka in the final as India secured a 72-run victory and lifted the title for a record eighth time.

She continued her strong form at the Asian Games, producing her best T20I figures of 4/10 against Japan to help India reach the semifinals. Charani then picked up two wickets in the gold-medal match against Sri Lanka, which India won by 147 runs.

Those performances helped her move to an unprecedented 817 rating points at the top of the rankings.

India's Deepti Sharma also made progress in the T20I bowling list after taking three wickets in the Asian Games final. She now has 754 points and occupies second place, while England's Sophie Ecclestone is third with 723.

There was also movement among India's leading batters, with Smriti Mandhana returning to the top five of the T20I batting rankings after scoring 79 in the Asian Games final against Sri Lanka.

The latest rankings also reflect performances from the ongoing ODI series between Zimbabwe and the West Indies in Harare, with the series level at 1-1.

West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews climbed three places to fourth in the ODI batting rankings after reaching 711 points. Her rise followed a record-breaking 182 in the opening ODI, leaving her just three points short of her career-best rating of 714.

Her West Indies teammate Realeanna Grimmond also made significant progress, climbing 34 places to share 102nd position with 270 points.

Zimbabwe's Nyasha Gwanzura moved 52 places to 156th in the ODI bowling rankings after playing a decisive role in her side's victory in the second ODI. She remained unbeaten on 18 and recorded career-best bowling figures of 4/33.

Zimbabwe batter Modester Mupachikwa climbed 16 places to a career-best 40th position with 492 points after scores of 86 and 38 across the two matches.

Francisca Chipare advanced 26 places to joint 123rd after returning figures of 2/57 and 2/16, while West Indies bowlers Ashmini Munisar and Aaliyah Alleyne also moved up the rankings.

Munisar climbed 23 places to joint 84th after taking four wickets at an average of 10.5 across the two matches. Alleyne rose eight places to 58th after figures of 3/44 in the first ODI and 2/27 in the second.

Australia's Ashleigh Gardner continues to lead the ODI all-rounder rankings with 497 points, while Matthews occupies the top spot in the T20I all-rounder rankings with 502 points.

Alana King remains No. 1 in the ODI bowling rankings with 753 points. In T20I batting, Australia's Beth Mooney has returned to the top with 785 points after her Player of the Tournament performance in the T20 World Cup final. She moved ahead of compatriot Georgia Voll, who has 779 points.

Mandhana continues to lead the ODI batting rankings with 790 points, eight points ahead of South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt, who sits second with 782.
