'Slum Dog - 33 Temple Road' makers release glimpse video that shows Zarina Wahab as Vijay Sethupathi’s mother in film

The makers of Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming action entertainer *Slumdog 33 Temple Road* have unveiled a new glimpse from the film, revealing veteran actress Zarina Wahab’s role opposite Vijay Sethupathi.

Zarina plays Zubeida, the mother of Vijay Sethupathi’s character. The newly released video offers an emotional look at her character and focuses on a difficult chapter of Zubeida’s life.

In the glimpse, Zubeida recalls a moment when she reached a railway station intending to end her life. However, hunger ultimately forced her to abandon that decision and beg for survival. The sequence attempts to portray the harsh realities faced by people living on the streets while also highlighting themes of survival, dignity and motherhood.

The makers had previously introduced another major character from the film, played by Tabu. The actress portrays Gauri Hegde, a Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax.

Tabu’s character glimpse presented her as a fearless and commanding officer. In one of the scenes, she warns Vijay Sethupathi’s character, saying, “In our style, we first shoot and then talk.” The video concludes by revealing her designation, while another sequence shows her confronting a man with a lathi.

The film has generated considerable interest since production began in July last year. According to sources close to the project, filming has now been completed and post-production work is progressing across all five language versions.

A title poster released by Puri Jagannadh last year offered an early glimpse of Vijay Sethupathi’s look in the film. The actor was seen wearing sunglasses and holding a bloodied machete while standing among wooden boxes filled with currency notes.

*Slumdog 33 Temple Road* is being produced by Puri Jagannadh under the Puri Connects banner. Charmi Kaur is presenting the film in collaboration with JB Motion Pictures and JB Narayan Rao Kondrolla.

Samyuktha has been cast as the female lead opposite Vijay Sethupathi, while Kannada actor Duniya Vijay and Tabu play key roles. Brahmaji and VTV Ganesh are also part of the supporting cast.

Samyuktha’s character is expected to have an important role in the story, with sources indicating that the part offers significant emotional and performance-driven material.

The film’s music is being composed by National Award-winning composer Harshavardhan Rameshwar, known for his work on films including *Arjun Reddy* and *Animal*.

*Slumdog 33 Temple Road* is planned as a pan-India release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
