Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday, bringing together scientists, researchers, and policymakers.

The three-day conclave, scheduled from October 27 to 29, will focus on emerging technologies, strengthening domestic scientific capabilities and translating research breakthroughs into practical applications.

Discussions will cover 12 thematic areas, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced materials, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, climate science and ocean research.

The event is expected to provide a platform for participants to identify research priorities, explore technological opportunities and discuss ways to convert scientific discoveries into solutions for industry and society.

Exhibition to Showcase Indian Scientific Innovations

A major technology and innovation exhibition will feature indigenous scientific achievements and emerging technologies, with around 150 deep-tech startups expected to participate through dedicated stalls.

The participating startups will demonstrate their innovations and highlight potential applications across various sectors, providing an opportunity to connect researchers, entrepreneurs and industry representatives.

The conclave will also host a Global Connect Networking Event, bringing together more than 300 invited participants from academic institutions, research organisations and industry in India and abroad.

The initiative is intended to encourage international research partnerships, strengthen collaboration between academia and industry, and explore ways to take innovations from laboratories to commercial markets.

ISRO to Present Next-Generation Space Technologies

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will showcase emerging space technologies at the conclave.

ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan said at a curtain-raiser event that the exhibition would feature a model of a proposed next-generation heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of placing payloads weighing more than 30,000 kg into low Earth orbit.

The exhibition is also scheduled to feature the Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5 missions. These missions are part of India’s lunar exploration programme, with Chandrayaan-4 planned around lunar sample return and Chandrayaan-5 associated with further lunar exploration.

The display is expected to offer visitors an overview of India’s developing capabilities in launch systems and space exploration.

Strengthening India’s Innovation Ecosystem

ESTIC 2026 is organised by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) under the guidance of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.

The conclave aims to strengthen coordination among research institutions, government agencies, universities, startups and industry, while supporting the development and application of emerging technologies.

The event is also aligned with the government’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, with an emphasis on advancing India’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem through research, domestic technological capabilities and collaboration.
