Cameras have officially begun rolling for the highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s regal romantic drama The Royals, with Nora Fatehi returning to reprise her fan-favorite role as Ayesha Dhondi. Filming kicked off against the grand, heritage backdrops of Rajasthan, reuniting Fatehi with co-star Ishaan Khatter as principal photography gets underway. The actress took to social media to share exciting glimpses from her shoot diaries, generating immediate buzz around her character’s return to the cutthroat world of palace politics and high society.
Ishaan Khatter, who plays the charismatic royal Prince Aviraaj Singh, also confirmed the commencement of the Rajasthan schedule with behind-the-scenes snapshots, setting the tone with his caption, “Lock in. Log out. See y’all on the other side.” The first season, created by Rangita and Ishita Pritish Nandy under Pritish Nandy Communications, carved a niche for itself by seamlessly weaving the opulent charm of modern Indian royalty with sharp, corporate boardroom ambitions and high-stakes hospitality drama.
Fatehi’s stylish and confident portrayal of Ayesha brought a distinctive energy to the debut season, and her arc in Season 2 is set to explore deeper interpersonal ties and brewing rivalries. Alongside Khatter and Fatehi, the series boasts a heavyweight ensemble featuring Bhumi Pednekar, Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Dino Morea, and Milind Soman. With the team now stationed in Rajasthan for an extensive filming schedule, the upcoming chapter promises even more lavish visuals, sharper conflicts, and heightened palace intrigue.
