Uttar Pradesh Minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Monday launched a fresh attack on Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, claiming that the opposition party was losing.
Rajbhar said the proposed gathering would demonstrate the political strength and unity of non-Yadav Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and the Bahujan community in Purvanchal, a region where the Samajwadi Party has traditionally maintained a significant presence.
In a post on X, Rajbhar directly challenged Akhilesh Yadav, claiming that areas considered the SP’s political strongholds were slipping from its grasp.
“One after another, your imaginary strongholds are collapsing. After Kannauj, now the drums of your farewell are about to sound in Azamgarh as well,” he wrote.
Rajbhar also criticised the SP’s PDA slogan, which represents Pichhda (backward classes), Dalit and Alpsankhyak (minorities), alleging that the party was misleading these communities.
He challenged Akhilesh Yadav to witness the rally and judge its political significance for himself.
SBSP Plans Social Harmony Rally on November 29
The SBSP’s proposed ‘Social Harmony Rally’ will be held at the ITI Ground in Azamgarh on November 29. Rajbhar said the gathering would showcase the strength of non-Yadav OBC communities and provide a platform for the broader Bahujan community to raise its concerns.
“On November 29, in Azamgarh, you will see the real strength of the non-Yadav OBCs and the Bahujan community, and all the arrogance born of your ignorance will disappear,” Rajbhar said.
Urging the SP chief to follow the proceedings, he added that the rally would challenge the Samajwadi Party’s claim over Azamgarh as its political bastion.
“You go around claiming Azamgarh as your bastion, but for the first time, the Bahujan society is going to raise its true voice in that very bastion,” he wrote.
Rajbhar described the event as an effort to bring Dalits, backward classes and particularly non-Yadav OBC communities together in Purvanchal.
Rajbhar Accuses SP of Neglecting Non-Yadav OBC Communities
The SBSP chief also accused the Samajwadi Party of invoking the PDA slogan during electoral campaigns while failing to adequately address the concerns of non-Yadav OBC groups outside election periods.
He specifically referred to communities including Rajbhars, Nishads, Chauhans, Prajapatis, Patels and Pals, arguing that their political interests needed greater representation.
Rajbhar’s remarks come amid a broader political contest over the support of backward classes and Dalit communities in Uttar Pradesh. The November 29 rally is expected to serve as a platform for the SBSP to highlight its outreach among these groups and challenge the Samajwadi Party’s influence in the region.
