A fresh western disturbance is likely to influence weather conditions across parts of northern India next week, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, although its impact on the plains will be limited.
The system may bring isolated light rainfall and snowfall to the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. However, dry weather is likely to continue across the northern plains until November 8.
Meanwhile, air pollution remains a major concern across Delhi-NCR, with several cities recording hazardous air quality levels. Delhi registered an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 463, while Noida recorded 456 and Greater Noida 426. Gurugram and other parts of the National Capital Region also reported AQI readings above 400.
Temperatures likely to remain moderate in Delhi
The IMD expects largely clear skies and windy conditions across Delhi-NCR over the coming days. The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may range from 14 to 18 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures are expected to decline further next week, potentially bringing colder conditions and an increase in morning fog.
Rainfall likely across parts of southern India
Cyclone Murasu, which developed over the Bay of Bengal, has weakened after crossing the Andhra Pradesh coast. However, rainfall activity is expected to continue in parts of southern India under the influence of a weather system over the Lakshadweep region and adjoining areas.
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Mahe and Karaikal may receive light to moderate rainfall until November 8. Parts of coastal Karnataka and southern Tamil Nadu are also likely to experience continued showers.
While southern parts of the country are expected to see further rainfall, the northern plains, including Delhi-NCR, are likely to remain predominantly dry through November 8.
