Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to visit Kanpur on Monday to mark Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and launch development initiatives worth more than ₹411 crore across the Bithoor and Bilhaur Assembly.
The programme will feature the inauguration of 48 development projects, the laying of foundation stones for additional works and the distribution of certificates to beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes.
According to the project details, completed works worth approximately ₹266 crore will be inaugurated, while new initiatives valued at around ₹145 crore will be launched through foundation-stone ceremonies.
Roads, Education and Rural Connectivity Among Key Projects
The development package covers a range of sectors, including road construction, rural connectivity, educational infrastructure, training centres and government buildings. It also includes improvements to public facilities and infrastructure associated with police and administrative services.
In Bilhaur, the projects include roads, connecting routes, rural infrastructure and educational facilities. Bithoor will also see works related to roads, educational institutions and other public amenities.
The initiatives are aimed at improving transport links, strengthening connectivity between villages and nearby areas, and enhancing the availability of infrastructure and public services for residents.
Public Meeting Scheduled at Nanarao Park
As per the proposed schedule, Adityanath will arrive at the helipad in Bithoor at 11 a.m. He is scheduled to address a public meeting at Nanarao Park at 11.30 a.m. before leaving the venue at 12.10 p.m.
The district administration has completed preparations for the programme, with officials reviewing arrangements to ensure its smooth conduct. A covered pandal has been set up at the park to accommodate attendees.
Security arrangements will include the deployment of around 500 police personnel at the venue and surrounding areas. Senior officers will supervise security, while drones will be used for surveillance. Traffic management measures have also been planned along the route between the helipad and the public meeting venue.
Valmiki Jayanti to Highlight Literary Legacy and Social Harmony
The Chief Minister’s visit will coincide with Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, which honours the sage traditionally regarded as the author of the Ramayana.
The programme will highlight Valmiki’s literary contributions and teachings, while recognising the contribution of the Valmiki community and emphasising the message of social harmony.
The inauguration of completed infrastructure works and the launch of new projects are expected to advance development efforts in the Bithoor and Bilhaur constituencies.
