The Mumbai Crime Branch, investigating the shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car, is examining whether the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was trying to assert its dominance over the city’s criminals.
According to police sources, investigators suspect that the gang’s broader objective was to create an atmosphere of fear similar to that associated with Mumbai’s underworld during the 1990s. A senior police official said the gang allegedly wanted to build a reputation in which a single phone call could intimidate businessmen, builders and film industry personalities.
The Crime Branch believes that establishing such influence could help the gang expand its alleged extortion operations and demand large sums of money from builders and members of the Bollywood industry.
12 Arrested in Connection With Firing
Police have arrested 12 people in connection with the firing at Tiger Shroff’s car. During the investigation, the Crime Branch reportedly recovered several audio recordings that reference individuals allegedly linked to the underworld.
The recordings are undergoing forensic examination as investigators seek to establish their authenticity, identify the people involved and determine whether they provide evidence of a wider criminal network.
Investigating agencies are also examining whether the Bishnoi gang was attempting to expand its influence in Mumbai by challenging existing criminal syndicates.
Police Examine Possible Wider Conspiracy
The police have intensified their investigation to identify and dismantle the alleged network and prevent further criminal activity.
Investigators are analysing the recovered material to determine whether the firing incident was an isolated act or part of a broader attempt to intimidate people and establish the gang’s presence in Mumbai.
Further investigation is underway.
