Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi unit chief Saurabh Bharadwaj has called an emergency meeting of senior party functionaries after claiming that the Central government is planning “something big”, without disclosing details.

In a post on X, Bharadwaj directed all district presidents, Vidhan Sabha presidents and ward observers to attend the meeting at the AAP office at noon on Saturday. His message did not specify what information prompted the warning or what action he believes the Centre may be considering.

The decision to convene an emergency meeting involving organisational leaders from across Delhi has drawn attention within political circles. The gathering is expected to focus on Bharadwaj's warning and allow the party to assess its possible political implications and decide on a response.

Bharadwaj's statement comes amid continuing political differences between the AAP and the Central government. The AAP has repeatedly accused the BJP-led government at the Centre of using investigative agencies and administrative powers against opposition leaders, allegations that the government has rejected.

However, Bharadwaj has so far not publicly identified any specific government decision, policy or action behind his warning. Reports on the announcement have likewise noted the absence of details about the basis of his claim.

The emergency meeting is expected to provide greater clarity on what Bharadwaj meant by his reference to “something big” and whether the party has received information about any imminent development.

The mobilisation comes as the AAP continues to raise a range of political and organisational issues against the BJP-led government, with relations between the two sides remaining contentious.
