Raksha Expo and an air show will be organised as part of the Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled for December 7 to 9 in Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju said on Thursday.

Raksha Expo and an air show will be organised as part of the Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled for December 7 to 9 in Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju said on Thursday.

Jaju said the Raksha Expo would serve as a major platform to showcase Telangana's defence and aerospace capabilities, promote industrial growth and attract investments to the state.

The Chief Secretary chaired a meeting at the B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat to review preparations for the event. Discussions covered participation by defence and aerospace companies, infrastructure, security arrangements, publicity and other logistical requirements.

Jaju noted that around 30 per cent of India's defence and aerospace industries are based in Hyderabad, making the city an important hub for the two sectors.

He directed officials to invite leading Indian and international defence, aerospace and arms manufacturing companies to participate in the Raksha Expo.

As part of the promotional campaign, roadshows will be held in Hyderabad on October 24 and in New Delhi on October 29.

Jaju said the state government was giving priority to the development of the defence and aerospace sectors and referred to the development of an airfield strip in Adilabad district as part of the state's efforts to strengthen related infrastructure.

He also directed officials to ensure participation from industry bodies including FICCI, ASSOCHAM, SIDM and MSMEs, as well as public and private sector organisations operating in the defence and aerospace sectors.

Leading organisations including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) are expected to showcase their products and capabilities at the Expo.

The event is also expected to facilitate business-to-business interactions, buyer-seller meetings, marketing opportunities, Memorandums of Understanding, startup collaborations and industry seminars.

In view of the ongoing modernisation of police and paramilitary forces across the country, Jaju directed officials to invite the Directors General of Police from all states to participate in the Expo.

He also called for an extensive publicity campaign using standees at prominent locations across Hyderabad, short films, brochures and social media platforms.

The Chief Secretary stressed the need for close coordination among all departments and agencies involved to ensure the successful organisation of the Raksha Expo and related events.

Home Department Principal Secretary Shikha Goel, Panchayat Raj and SERP Commissioner Divya, Invest Telangana CEO Ajit Reddy and other senior officials attended the meeting.
