Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma to Visit Barmer, Announce Rs 2,700 Crore Development Projects

The Chief Minister will address a public meeting at Bacchdau village in Barmer district as part of the visit. The programme will cover 1,013 development projects across Barmer, Balotra, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Pali, Sirohi and Phalodi.

A large share of the projects is located in Barmer, with around 1,000 works planned for the district. The projects include works related to roads, water supply, electricity and government buildings, with several foundation stones to be laid for projects announced in the state budget.

Among the works planned for Barmer are 16 Public Works Department projects with a combined cost of around Rs 129 crore. Most of these involve road construction and widening.

The projects include widening the Sanavada-Dharmpura Mehlu road near NH-68 at a cost of Rs 21 crore, construction work on the Bacchdau-Chauhtan route via Leelsar costing Rs 12 crore and the Udasar-Nokhda road at Rs 20 crore. Other projects include road works connecting NH-68 with Harchand Ki Pyau via St Paul School and Bhagwati Green Township, as well as roads linking NH-68 and Baldev Nagar, Shiv and Kotra, and Kawas-Bhimda and Batadu-Undu.

Bacchdau has been chosen as the venue for the Chief Minister's public meeting. The village is situated close to three Assembly constituencies and several newly created Panchayat Samitis.

Sharma is expected to arrive at Uttarlai Airport in Barmer at around 11:30 a.m. after departing from Jaipur. The programme at the Government Senior Secondary School sports ground in Bacchdau is scheduled to begin at noon, with foundation stone-laying and inauguration of development works followed by the public meeting.

He will subsequently meet party workers from Jaisalmer, Barmer and Balotra at the same venue before travelling to Sumerpur in Pali district. There, he is scheduled to meet party workers from Pali, Jalore and Sirohi.

The Chief Minister will later travel to Jodhpur, where an interaction with party workers from Jodhpur and Phalodi is scheduled at the Marwar International Centre.

The visit comes amid the state government's continued focus on rural infrastructure and development. In a recent review, Sharma directed officials to ensure timely completion of rural projects, including roads, water supply and other public amenities.

The Rajasthan government has also recently undertaken similar large-scale development programmes in other divisions. On September 26, Sharma inaugurated and laid foundation stones for more than 1,450 development works worth over Rs 924 crore across seven districts of the Udaipur division.
