Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 on Thursday and address participants at the four-day technology event.

Jointly organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), IMC 2026 is being held from October 7 to 10 under the theme, “Scale Without Boundaries”.

According to the government, the theme highlights India's expanding capabilities in digital innovation, next-generation connectivity and technology-led economic growth. The event is structured around four key pillars: Srishti, focused on building the future; Samvardhan, aimed at fuelling growth; Sashakt, centred on expanding opportunities; and Suraksha, focused on strengthening trust.

The congress will bring together technology companies, policymakers, industry experts, startups, investors and innovators to discuss emerging opportunities across the digital technology landscape. Discussions will focus on next-generation digital infrastructure, technology-driven growth, inclusive access and the creation of secure and resilient digital ecosystems.

IMC 2026 will cover nine major technology sectors, including 5G and 6G, next-generation AI networks, semiconductors, non-terrestrial networks, cybersecurity, quantum communication, enterprise transformation, circular economy and ESG, and electronics manufacturing.

The event has also expanded its focus this year to include four emerging areas: smart mobility, stadium experiences, industrial robotics and transport technology.

The government expects the 2026 edition to attract more than 1.5 lakh visitors from over 100 countries. The event is also expected to feature more than 500 partners and exhibitors, over 600 startups and more than 900 thought leaders.

More than 120 sessions are scheduled during the congress, along with demonstrations of over 2,000 technology use cases showcasing developments and emerging trends that could shape the future of the global digital ecosystem.
