Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 on October 8 and address participants at the four-day event, according to the government.

Jointly organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the event will be held from October 7 to 10 under the theme "Scale Without Boundaries".

According to the government, the theme reflects India's expanding capabilities in digital innovation, next-generation connectivity and technology-driven economic growth. The event is structured around four key pillars: Srishti (Building the Future), Samvardhan (Fueling Growth), Sashakt (Expanding Opportunities) and Suraksha (Strengthening Trust).

IMC 2026 will focus on innovation, next-generation digital infrastructure, technology-led growth, inclusive access to digital services and the development of secure and resilient digital ecosystems.

The event is expected to bring together technology leaders, policymakers, industry experts, startups, investors and innovators from across the world to discuss emerging opportunities in the digital economy.

The government said the 2026 edition will feature nine established sectors, including 5G and 6G, next-generation AI networks, semiconductors, non-terrestrial networks, cybersecurity, quantum communications, enterprise transformation, circular economy and ESG, as well as electronics manufacturing.

Four additional areas have been included this year: smart mobility, stadium experiences, industrial robotics and transport technology.

The government expects more than 1.5 lakh people from over 100 countries to attend the event. The congress is also set to feature more than 500 partners and exhibitors, over 600 startups and more than 900 thought leaders.

More than 120 sessions and over 2,000 technology use cases will be showcased during the event, highlighting emerging innovations and developments expected to shape the global digital ecosystem.
