Piyush Goyal Invites US Manufacturers to Explore Investment Opportunities in India

Goyal made the remarks while addressing a business roundtable organised by the National Association of Manufacturers in Milwaukee, which brought together representatives of both large and small manufacturing companies from across the US.

During his ongoing visit to the United States, the minister highlighted the momentum in India-US economic relations and pointed to India's growing industrial base and skilled workforce.

Goyal also encouraged American companies to consider co-investing in advanced manufacturing in India and working with Indian SMEs to develop resilient supply chains that can create value for both economies.

The outreach comes as India and the US continue discussions on a Bilateral Trade Agreement aimed at expanding economic ties. Goyal is scheduled to engage with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer during his visit as both countries work towards advancing the negotiations.

The minister is also attending the G20 Trade Ministers' Meeting in Milwaukee at the invitation of the USTR.

According to an official statement, India and the US will work towards finalising an interim trade agreement in line with the joint statement issued by the two countries on February 7, 2026.

India is expected to press for a rules-based, open, inclusive, transparent, equitable and non-discriminatory global trading system, with the World Trade Organization at its core.

Goyal is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings during his US visit to strengthen trade and investment relations. The discussions are expected to focus on expanding opportunities for farmers, fishermen, women entrepreneurs, startups, MSMEs and other businesses.

Beyond government-to-government engagements, the minister is scheduled to meet senior executives of major American companies operating across manufacturing, consumer goods, agribusiness, retail and technology in Milwaukee and Chicago.
