Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said the proposed renaming of Noida International Airport as Narendra Modi International Airport will remind future generations to contribute.
The remarks came after the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approved a resolution to rename the airport. Adityanath announced the decision following the Cabinet meeting on Friday.
Pathak described the move as a tribute to the Prime Minister's vision of nation-building, saying it would encourage young people to work towards achieving the goals outlined under the 'Viksit Bharat@2047' initiative.
He added that the decision would remind future generations of Modi's commitment to developing India and motivate them to contribute to the country's progress.
Other members of the Uttar Pradesh government and BJP leaders also welcomed the Cabinet's decision.
State Minister Somendra Tomar said the Prime Minister's completion of 25 years in public service was an occasion for celebration. He also referred to Modi's association with Varanasi, which he represents in the Lok Sabha, and extended his congratulations.
Minister Danish Azad said the transformation of Uttar Pradesh under Adityanath's leadership had been significant, adding that the state would contribute towards achieving the Prime Minister's vision of a developed India by 2047.
BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary also welcomed the resolution, stating that the decision recognised Modi's contributions to development in Uttar Pradesh and across the country.
Addressing a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Adityanath described the Prime Minister's 25 years in public service as an important period for the development of both the state and the nation.
Adityanath also highlighted Modi's association with Uttar Pradesh, noting that the Prime Minister had been elected to the Lok Sabha from the state. He said the state had continued to make progress under Modi's leadership and pointed to his emphasis on public service, dedication and nation-building.
The proposed renaming of Noida International Airport is the latest decision announced by the Uttar Pradesh government, with BJP leaders linking the move to the Prime Minister's public service record and the broader objective of achieving a developed India by 2047.
