The Madhya Pradesh government will host the National Fisheries Investors and Exporters Conclave-2026 in Bhopal on Friday to attract investment, strengthen fish-processing infrastructure, and expand export opportunities.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the event at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in the presence of Union Fisheries Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Union Minister of State S.P. Singh Baghel. Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development Narayan Singh Panwar will also attend.
Ahead of the conclave, Yadav said the initiative aims to increase fish farmers' income, create employment opportunities and position Madhya Pradesh as a major hub for inland fisheries.
The state government aims to connect its extensive water resources with investment, modern processing facilities and export markets. The conclave will bring together investors, exporters, entrepreneurs, startups and industry experts to explore opportunities across fish production, processing, cold-chain infrastructure, value addition and marketing.
Madhya Pradesh has approximately 4.5 lakh hectares of water area, providing scope for inland fisheries, cage culture and related industries. The government plans to leverage this potential to increase production, improve market access and strengthen the livelihoods of fishing communities.
A key highlight of the event will be the release of the *Madhya Pradesh Fisheries Investment and Export Guide-2026*. The event will also unveil a standard operating procedure aimed at enhancing the export potential of inland states.
Integrated cage culture units will be inaugurated virtually, while administrative approval letters for projects involving the integrated development of reservoirs and Amrit Sarovars will be distributed.
Certificates will also be presented to beneficiaries associated with the Kisan Credit Card scheme, fisheries cooperative societies, startups and the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana.
The programme will include a buyer-seller meeting, bringing cage-culture investors, exporters and pearl traders into direct interaction with local producers and entrepreneurs to explore potential commercial partnerships.
The government expects the conclave to help identify new investment opportunities, encourage private-sector participation, and build the infrastructure needed to expand fish processing, value addition, and exports from Madhya Pradesh.
