Heavy Rain Forces Vijay to Cancel First Kerala Visit as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

Vijay was scheduled to travel from Coimbatore to Thrissur to attend a special Navaratri celebration at the residence of T.S. Kalyanaraman, chairman of the Kalyan Group. However, adverse weather conditions disrupted his travel plans, leading to the cancellation of his scheduled helicopter journey.

Kalyan Group officials confirmed that the visit had been called off. Vijay subsequently returned to Chennai aboard a special aircraft.

The cancellation disappointed thousands of fans and supporters who had gathered near the venue since the morning, hoping to see the actor-turned-politician during his first visit to Kerala since taking office as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

Vijay's political rise from a prominent film star to head of the Tamil Nadu government has drawn considerable public attention, and his appearances continue to attract large crowds.

Despite the cancellation, supporters received some reassurance, as officials said Vijay had said he intended to visit Kalyanaraman's residence at a later date.

The proposed visit had generated considerable excitement in Thrissur, with the Navaratri celebration providing an opportunity for Vijay to travel to Kerala for a private engagement.

However, the adverse weather meant that the anticipated interaction with his supporters could not take place as planned.

No fresh date has been announced for the visit so far. Vijay's proposed return to Thrissur is expected to remain a point of interest for supporters awaiting his first appearance in Kerala as Chief Minister.
