The recoveries included 22 children and 58 adults and were carried out between September 1 and September 30.
Police said search efforts were initiated soon after missing-person complaints were received. Teams conducted local inquiries, reviewed CCTV footage and circulated photographs of the missing individuals at locations such as auto and e-rickshaw stands, bus terminals and railway stations.
Investigators also questioned bus drivers, conductors and local vendors to establish possible movements of those reported missing. Police said local informers were engaged in the searches, while records from nearby police stations and hospitals were checked as part of the investigation.
The operation resulted in the recovery of missing persons across several police station areas. R.K. Puram teams traced a minor boy and three adult men, while South Campus police located two minor girls. Vasant Kunj North teams recovered three missing adults, including two men and a woman.
Vasant Kunj South police traced a minor girl and six adults, comprising two men and four women. Kapashera teams recovered five minor girls and 11 adults, including four men and seven women.
Palam Village police traced three minor boys and seven adults, while Sagarpur teams located 12 missing adults, comprising four men and eight women. Sarojini Nagar police recovered two children, a boy and a girl, along with four adults.
Teams from S.J. Enclave traced two children, a boy and a girl, as well as two adult men. Kishangarh police recovered a minor girl and five adults, including two men and three women.
The South-West District's Anti-Human Trafficking Unit also traced five missing children, including one boy and four girls, along with five adults.
Police said some of the people recovered had been missing for extended periods. One adult had reportedly been missing since 2021, a minor boy since 2024, and two adults since 2025. The remaining 76 people had been reported missing in 2026.
According to the police, 1,229 missing persons have been traced across the South-West District between January 1 and September 30, 2026. The figure includes 318 children and 911 adults.
Police said Operation Milap continues to focus on early intervention, systematic investigation and coordination among different units to locate missing people and facilitate their safe return to their families.
