Delhi Police have solved a robbery case registered at DBG Road police station by arresting two men and apprehending a 15-year-old juvenile. Police recovered a Vivo Y58 mobile phone allegedly stolen during the incident.

The robbery took place on October 11 at around 7.30 p.m., when the complainant was returning from Karol Bagh Market to his residence in Manakpura.

According to the police, the victim was near TT Garments on East Park Road, close to Ajmal Khan Park, when three people allegedly followed and intercepted him. The accused reportedly assaulted him before fleeing with his Vivo Y58 mobile phone and Rs 2,000 in cash.

Police registered a case under Sections 309(4) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation to identify those involved.

CCTV Footage and UPI Transaction Help Investigators

The case was solved by the crack team of DBG Road police station through an investigation involving CCTV footage analysis and technical surveillance.

Investigators examined available footage and pursued technical leads to establish the identities and whereabouts of the suspects. A key breakthrough came from information obtained through a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transaction, which helped police identify the accused and trace them to their residences.

Acting on the leads, police apprehended all three suspects from their respective homes.

The two adult accused have been identified as Rohit alias Sumit, 18, a resident of Motia Khan on Sadar Thana Road, and Krishna, 19, who lives in Mangol Puri. The third suspect is a 15-year-old juvenile from Motia Khan, police said.

The two adults were arrested and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. The juvenile was dealt with under the applicable legal procedures and sent to an appropriate Child Observation Home.

Stolen Mobile Phone Recovered

During questioning, the accused allegedly told investigators that they had carried out the robbery to obtain quick money through illegal means, according to the police.

The Vivo Y58 mobile phone reported stolen by the complainant was recovered during the operation. The investigation is continuing.

The police team involved in the operation comprised Assistant Sub-Inspector Surender, Head Constables Manish and Satish, and Constables Ravi, Arun and Neeraj.

The team worked under the supervision of DBG Road police station SHO Inspector Randhir Singh and ACP Paharganj Dharampal.
