Rajnath Singh Hails IAF as Symbol of Courage, Valour and Discipline on Air Force Day

In a post on X, Singh described the Indian Air Force as a symbol of courage, valour, discipline and professionalism. He said Air Warriors had consistently protected India's airspace and responded whenever the country faced a crisis.

Singh also highlighted the contribution of IAF personnel beyond national security, saying their dedication and service had strengthened India's defence and contributed to national unity and a sense of collective resolve.

The Indian Air Force was established on October 8, 1932, initially as an auxiliary air force under British rule. It has since evolved into a major component of India's armed forces, with its primary responsibilities including protecting the country's airspace and conducting aerial operations during armed conflicts.

The main Air Force Day ceremony is being held at Hindon Air Force Station, while air displays are also scheduled at various locations across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended greetings to Air Warriors and their families earlier in the day, thanking them for their service and praising their role in protecting India's skies.

In a post on X, Modi said the country was proud of its Air Warriors and saluted their courage and commitment.

In a video message, the Prime Minister said aerial operations involve unpredictable conditions and noted that the IAF's ability to demonstrate its strength in the skies had inspired confidence among citizens and provided a sense of security.
