Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday accused the Congress and the INDIA bloc of turning their frustration over electoral defeats into what he described as a “politics of anarchy”.
Adityanath made the remarks ahead of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) padyatra in Gorakhpur, alongside BJP National President Nitin Nabin.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the Congress and the INDIA bloc were setting new records of electoral defeats and accused their leaders of responding to the results with frustration. He claimed that their attitude towards the people’s mandate stemmed from a lack of political clarity and credibility.
Adityanath said he would participate in the march to raise public awareness about what he termed anarchy and to uphold democratic values.
He also said the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remained committed to protecting the country’s democratic institutions and values.
