In an exclusive interview with 4thWallNetwork, Shriraj Nair, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) spokesperson and joint secretary for Mumbai to Goa (Konkan), questioned the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) funding and leadership.
Mr Sriraj Nair said that the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) was backed by foreign-funded networks and anti-national elements, questioned Abhijeet Dipke’s educational and professional background, and argued that political protests should not disrupt public life or undermine an elected government's mandate.
Speaking to 4thWallNetwork, Mr Nair claimed that CJP was operating through a coordinated toolkit supported by individuals and groups opposed to India’s national interests.
Mr Nair claimed that the organisation’s funding was linked to billionaire George Soros and associated networks.
Mr Nair further mentioned that various elements, including groups he described as radical Islamist and anti-national forces, were providing financial support and manpower to the movement. Mr Nair called for greater scrutiny of the organisation’s funding sources, leadership and activities.
Mr Nair Questions Abhijeet Dipke’s Background
During the conversation with 4thWallNetwork, Mr Nair also questioned Abhijeet Dipke's educational and professional background. Referring to Dipke’s reported education at Boston University, Mr Nair said that the degree details were not available to him and questioned what Dipke had accomplished professionally at age 31.
Mr Nair also questioned Dipke’s employment history and described him as a “stooge”, saying that he was acting on behalf of interests opposed to India’s national interests.
‘The World’s Largest Democracy Must Be Respected’
Discussing the political climate and the protests surrounding CJP, Mr Nair argued that an elected government should be allowed to govern peacefully after securing a mandate from voters.
Mr Nair maintained that India, as the world’s largest democracy, must respect the electoral process and allow elected representatives to carry out their responsibilities without deliberate disruption.
According to Mr Nair, voters who believe a government is not working in their interests can hold it accountable through elections and vote it out of power.
Mr Nair argued that political disagreements should be addressed through democratic institutions and electoral participation rather than actions that prevent an elected government from functioning.
‘The Right to Protest Is Democratic, but Creating Anarchy Is Not’
Mr Nair acknowledged that the right to protest is an essential part of democracy but argued that demonstrations should not come at the cost of ordinary citizens’ lives and livelihoods.
Speaking to 4thWallNetwork, Mr Nair stated that the protests went beyond peaceful demonstrations and aimed to create disorder. Mr Nair cited reported disruptions affecting commuters, ambulance services and students appearing for examinations.
As per Mr Nair, obstructing emergency services and interfering with examinations or everyday activities cannot be justified in the name of political opposition.
Mr Nair described such actions as “anarchy” and argued that democratic protest must remain peaceful and should not bring public life to a standstill.
Mr Nair claims CJP's Support from Anti-National Elements
Mr Nair reiterated his opinion that CJP was receiving support from what he described as anti-national elements, including groups he claimed were contributing money and manpower to its activities. Mr Nair argued that the organisation’s funding and alleged links required closer scrutiny.
Mr Nair also maintained that political actors must respect India’s democratic institutions and the mandate delivered by voters, adding that governments should be given the opportunity to govern while opposition parties exercise their right to question them through lawful and democratic means.
The interview with 4thWallNetwork reflects Mr Nair’s position on the controversy surrounding CJP; the debate centres on the relationship between the right to peaceful protest, public order and the accountability of elected governments in a democratic society.
