Bihar Minister Says NDA United After Anant Singh Backs Jan Suraaj Candidate

Anant Singh's announcement has drawn attention because Anuj Kumar Singh is contesting from the Patna Graduates constituency against sitting JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar, with whom Anant Singh has publicly differed.

Speaking about the development, Ram Kripal Yadav maintained that the alliance remained intact and said candidates from both the JD(U) and BJP would receive the support of NDA leaders and workers.

“Whether they are candidates of the Janata Dal (United) or the Bharatiya Janata Party, everyone is united. We are united like a rock,” Yadav said.

The minister also described Anant Singh and Neeraj Kumar as capable leaders and expressed confidence that they would work together.

“I believe Anant Babu is a very capable leader, and Neeraj Babu is also a capable leader. Both will work together and receive everyone’s support. Anant Babu will also help Neeraj Babu,” he said.

JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad also expressed confidence in Neeraj Kumar's electoral prospects. He said the sitting MLC would retain the Patna Graduates seat and pointed to his previous victories.

“Neeraj Kumar is going to win the election by a huge margin. He has won three times, and the winning streak will continue for the fourth time,” Prasad said.

Prasad further said the JD(U) and its alliance partners were aiming to win all eight Legislative Council seats being contested in the Graduate and Teachers' constituencies in Bihar.

“The entire party and the entire alliance will win not only the Patna seat but all eight Legislative Council seats in Bihar where voting will take place in the Graduate and Teachers' constituencies,” he said.

JD(U) National General Secretary Shyam Rajak said the party had already taken its position and that its leaders and workers would follow the directions of the leadership.

“The party has already taken its decision. We have a strong alliance and a strong organisation in our party. Our people follow the directions of the leadership with discipline,” Rajak said.

He added that the party would contest the Legislative Council elections in accordance with the leadership's decision, with the broader objective of securing victories for all eight candidates fielded by the JD(U) and NDA.

Anant Singh, the JD(U) MLA from Mokama, had announced his support for Jan Suraaj candidate Anuj Kumar Singh on Monday. Speaking at a press conference at his Patna residence, where Anuj Singh was also present, he said he would campaign against Neeraj Kumar in the Patna Graduates constituency.

The development has brought the differences between Anant Singh and Neeraj Kumar into sharper focus ahead of the Legislative Council polls, while senior NDA leaders have sought to emphasise alliance unity and organisational discipline.
