Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh has called for wider adoption of digital pension services, stressing that technology-driven reforms must make pension-related services simpler and more accessible.

His remarks came during the 17th Pension Adalat, where 756 of 897 long-pending cases were resolved, representing a redressal rate of 84.2 per cent.

Dr Singh said pension administration should continuously incorporate the experiences and difficulties faced by pensioners and work towards addressing shortcomings in the existing system. He emphasised the need to identify gaps in pension delivery and improve processes so that the benefits of reforms reach beneficiaries at the last mile.

According to the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the minister stressed that pension reforms should not be limited to technological advancement but should result in tangible improvements in the day-to-day experience of pensioners.

The cases that remain unresolved are being pursued for redressal in the coming days, with the government maintaining its focus on timely disposal of pension-related grievances.

Dr. Singh also highlighted the increasing use of digital technology in pension services, including digital identity and face-recognition-based mechanisms aimed at simplifying procedures.

Referring to the Digital Life Certificate initiative, he stressed the importance of awareness campaigns and outreach programmes to ensure that pensioners can obtain their certificates conveniently without facing unnecessary difficulties.

The minister also highlighted efforts to simplify pension procedures and strengthen support for families of pensioners. He said reforms should remain focused on the practical challenges faced by beneficiaries and contribute to greater ease of access to government services.

The 17th Pension Adalat brought pensioners together with concerned Ministries and Departments to examine and address grievances. Cases were presented before Dr. Jitendra Singh by the Joint Secretary (Pension), enabling direct consideration of complaints and coordinated efforts towards their early resolution.

During the event, flyers highlighting success stories from the 16th Pension Adalat were released along with the e-booklet *Bringing Ease in the Life of Family Pensioners*. The publications highlight measures aimed at strengthening grievance redressal and improving the experience of pensioners and family pensioners.

The Pension Adalat is part of the institutional mechanism established by the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare to facilitate accessible, meaningful and expeditious resolution of pensioners' grievances.
